Join AEC and learn about the Economics & Environmental Performance of Biodiesel vs. Electric Heat Pumps.

The major energy policy of northeastern state governments is to replace heating oil, propane and even natural gas home heating systems with electric heat pumps. State governments have preached to consumers that electric heat pumps are cheaper to run, more reliable, and cleaner than heating fuels.

This session will look critically at these claims, and expose the real economics of cold weather heat pumps, including:

  • How the current electric generation and distribution infrastructure of "the grid" can't handle peak demand
  • The high carbon intensity of power generation during peak load periods
  • The short cycling nature of peak loads
  • The drop in heat pump COP during cold morning/evening peak periods

By attending this important webinar, you will obtain valuable information to help arm yourself when communicating with decision makers and customers before they make a determination about changing their home's heating and energy source.

Presenters: Our presenters have researched cold weather heat pumps extensively for many Northeast state associations and for NORA: Rich Sweetser, NORA Research Program Director; Ray Albrecht, National Biodiesel Board

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar.
